No writ petition is maintainable for quashment of a criminal proceeding and secondly, a fugitive from justice cannot get any relief from court.

The writ Court cannot to quash the proceedings of a criminal case unless the 'vires' of any law is found to have been challenged The High Court Division held that admittedly the 'vires' of any of the provisions of the Negotiable Instru- ments Act has not been challenged in the Writ Petition before High Court Division. So the question of quashing the proceed- ings of Complaint Case No. 367 of 2018, now pending before the Court below, is out of the question.
