The respondents herein who were all appointed and joined the Bangladesh Police Force on various date and are presently serving as Sub-Inspector at different locations within the country. The Writ Petition No.7942 of 2009 was filed impugning the Memo No. আর এন্ড এম/৬২-২০০৮/১০৫২ (১১৩) dated 5.8.2009. The said memo gave detail of various conditions/bars which could have to be fulfilled before appointment serving in the rank of Sub-Inspector, would be considered for promotion to the rank of Inspector.
