The writ-petitioners were not selected in interview for appointment in their respective job, however, the committee recommended the matter to be placed before the syndicate for final decision. Accordingly, the matter was placed before the 35th meeting of the syndicate of the University held on 01.11.2008 and the syndicate by its resolution No.26, extended the ad-hoc period of the writ-petitioners' services purely on humanitarian ground upto 31.12.2008 with the condition that under any circumstances no further extension will be given and the ad-hoc appointment shall be deemed to be cancelled with the expiry of 31.12.2008 and that the aforesaid decision has been communicated to the writ-petitioners vide office order dated 20.11.2008 which has been impugned in the writ petition.
